Australian Open
The Australian Open is one of the main golf tournaments on the PGA Tour of Australasia. Started in 1904 it has become one of the main tournaments with points in the Official World Golf Rankings awarded to the winner, along with the Stonehaven Cup and modest prize money. The tournament is hosted by various golf clubs including the Royal Sydney Golf Club in New South Wales and the New South Wales Golf Club.
Golf Courses in Sydney, NSW
The Royal Sydney Golf Club is one of the most prestigious social and sporting institutions in Australia. This private club includes tennis courts, bowling greens and croquet along with the championship golf course. It was founded in 1893 and is NSW’s second oldest golf club. The first clubhouse was Mrs. Ebsworth’s Cottage and the current beautiful clubhouse was built in 1922.
The New South Wales Golf Club is just 20 minutes from Sydney on Botany Bay and is surrounded by National Park. It is rated as one of the best in the world with the links-style course enjoying magnificent ocean views.

Bonville International Golf and Country Club has magnificent vistas of the mountains and Coffs harbour and plenty of Australian wildlife sharing its 18-hole par 72 course. Corowa Golf Club has two courses: The Old Course which has 9 holes and the more difficult East Course which is 18 holes and par 73. The course has a variety of challenges from lush greens and gum trees to more hilly terrain.
Golf Courses in Queensland
The Royal Pines Resort at Ashmore has an East Course, par 72 with an ACU rating of 76 and the slightly shorter West Course. Both are championship courses with fresh and saltwater lakes. In Brisbane the McLeod Country Golf Club is a par 72/74.

The City of Adelaide Golf links is open to the public as well as to members and has a 71 rating on the 18-hole South Course.

The Commonwealth Golf Club in Albert Park has hosted the Australia Open and requires good skills. The nearby Huntingdale Golf Club is rated in the top 20 best in Australia and has hosted the Australian masters since 1979.
